“Sparks of tomorrow”, the futuristic vision of Lexus

A partnership between Lexus and Milan Design Week that has lasted for almost twenty years; in fact, since 2005, the Japanese premium brand has been present in the spaces of the Fuorisalone, collaborating with internationally renowned designers.

So, once again this year Lexus presented its installation that places man at the center of attention, the so-called “human centric” vision, with a perspective that looks to the future.

And the future for the Japanese company runs towards 100% electric mobility; after being one of the main supporters of the hybrid – and after the debut of the UX 300e, the first zero-emission model – the first electric native car, the RZ, is about to arrive. And the installation in the Superstudio pavilions in Via Tortona, Milan, is inspired by this model. The work is concentrated on a three-dimensional sculptural realization in scale, made of steel and illuminated; the chassis of the car shines and is suspended to convey the idea of movement.

Based on this principle of a concept that comes to life, the installation is enhanced by colored suspended lights that illuminate the vehicle, adding a delicate, material and positive quality to the immersive installation.

In the spaces adjacent to the installation, the new prototypes of the finalists of the Lexus Design Award 2022 and the works of the students of the Royal College of Art in London were also exhibited. With a single common denominator: sustainability.
