Yann Tiersen“ was born in Brest, France, in June 1970 and grew up in Rennes. At the age of six he learned to play the violin and piano, and in his youth he played guitar in various bands. A little later he finally studied at the music colleges in Rennes, Nantes and Boulogne.

He released his first albums in the mid and late 90s before he received greater attention in 2001 for his film music.the fabulous destiny of Amelie Poulain“acquired. Just a year later he also contributed music to the film “Good bye, Lenin”. With this attention tailwind, lots of other albums followed. In 2010, Yann Tiersen also founded the “Electronic Dust Band”, “ESB” for short, with two musicians and the associated debut album was released in October 2015.

He recently announced that he would be traveling around without a crew and that he would forgo the frills and hotels and instead sleep in a camper. The performances will be intimate meetings; he doesn’t just want to be the aloof musician, but a friend who visits every city.
