Almost everything was ready to celebrate the first 50 years of the Stefano Ricci maison scheduled in Luxor, Egypt, on 30 and 31 March. The Florentine designer and entrepreneur, however, has decided to postpone the celebrations to October, out of respect for the populations affected by the war in Ukraine. “In these hours, marked by the war, I have made the decision to postpone the celebration of Stefano Ricci’s 50th anniversary – reads a note sent by the maison to international guests who were expected for the event -. This act wants to express our desire for peace and a form of respect for the affected populations ».
Russia and the former Soviet republics, first of all Ukraine, are in fact countries in which the company has worked a lot and for years: overall they absorb almost a fifth of the 120 million euros of revenues of the company (which owes 95 % of its turnover abroad) and in 2022 it was planned to open a Stefano Ricci store in Odessa.
