Students on tour in local companies to find out how to become green

ALEXANDRIA. Sustainability in small and medium-sized enterprises. This is the theme of the Pmi Day, which on Friday 19 November will allow students, teachers and local communities to visit Confindustria companies and understand how the productive activity works.

The Abbey of Felizzano, the Centrale del Latte of Alessandria and Asti, the Proplast Consortium will participate. A prologue tomorrow at Solvay with the students of the Volta Institute of Alessandria, who will then also visit the Abbey and the Centrale. The students of the Sobrero di Casale will go to Solvay while the Galilei scientific high school in Alessandria will be welcomed by Proplast.

«Sustainability and territory are two themes of absolute importance – underlines Laura Coppo, president of Confindustria Alessandria -, which unite our activities and which are decisive for guaranteeing development today and even more in the future. It is therefore with particular pleasure that we discuss sustainability during this PmiDay. We find ourselves introducing students to different realities, all with a commitment that regards development in the area, research and attention to sustainable growth ».

«The students – continues Laura Coppo – visit a company like Solvay which has invested a lot in research and invests and also creates, with local SMEs, a supply chain that further favors employment and development. The Proplast Consortium in its research works among other things on the theme of the use of materials with a positive impact on the environment. The Centrale del Latte, which we visit together with Confagricoltura, a traditional partner of Confindustria Alessandria on Pmi Day, also contributes to the supply chain of agricultural products in the area ».

Finally, he remembers the Abazia di Felizzano, a mechanical company founded in 1961 active in the automotive components sector: “Having refined over the years its experience in the precision mechanics sector, it is now able to respond with high technology to the most varied study requests. and design of molds and equipment », he adds.

Pmi Day is part of Confindustria’s Business Culture Week and is one of the events of the European Week of SMEs organized by the EU Commission.

One of the themes will be the school-work alternation which, for Confindustria, “profoundly innovates teaching by making the relationship between training and work structural and which sees the Pmi Day as an activity that can be included in the planning of alternation courses”.

Tiziano Maino, vice president of Confindustria Alessandria and member of the national committee of the Pmi Day, explains: «I have participated in many editions, always with enthusiasm fueled above all by the many girls and boys I saw visiting our companies. They returned to school enriched, of course, but even for us entrepreneurs these visits have been useful and have always left us valuable ».
