SULDUSK – Single including video from the upcoming album

Australian dark folk/blackgaze frontmen SULDUSK release music video for their thrilling new album single “Crystalline”! The album “Anthesis” will be released on March 1, 2024 via Napalm Records.

After their highly acclaimed debut album “Lunar Falls”, which thrilled not only listeners and the international press, but also the rock and metal empire Napalm Records, Australian dark folk/blackgaze project SULDUSK rings in the new year with the release of theirs second studio album Anthesis, which will be released on March 1st, 2024!

SULDUSK began as a one-woman project founded by the highly talented Emily Highfield. For Anthesis, she recruited incredibly talented musicians who helped her elevate the vision of her acoustic-based music to the level of an intense, powerful and heavy album. Anthesis continues where SULDUSK left off with their captivating debut, but proves to be even more musically complex. The album takes the listener into a dark, magical world where the Melbourne-based project combines a wide variety of dark and extreme sounds into their very own sonic universe.

Following the release of the album’s first single and title track, Melbourne’s SULDUSK today unveil the music video for their captivating new single “Crystalline”!

Band mastermind Emily Highfield reveals: ““Crystalline” is the sequel to “Nazare”, which was included on “Lunar Falls”, the first SULDUSK album. Nature – its beauty and brutality – is definitely a strong muse for SULDUSK’s music, and these two tracks pay homage to the power and comfort of the ocean. Coming from Australia, which is an isolated island, nature is abundant here and always a source of inspiration.”

On “Anthesis” SULDUSK shine with dark folk, blackgaze, post-rock, prog, doom and even black metal elements that merge into a unique sound synthesis. A particular highlight is Emily’s voice, which at one moment impresses with its gentleness and fragility and the next moment turns into a demonic scream! For the first time in SULDUSK’s short history, there are also male vocal harmonies, provided by Shane Mulholland. Anthesis was produced and mixed by Troy Mccosker and mastered by Thomas “Plec” Johansson (Soilwork, Opeth, Katatonia). The album also features guest appearances from Raphael Weinroth-Browne (Leprous) and Rachelle Harvey on cello.

With their second album, SULDUSK are more than ready to embark on another journey into the depths of the jungles, where emotions are hidden in the thicket, to reveal what is not meant to be seen. The album is a stunning and captivating masterpiece – highly recommended for fans of Myrkur, Oathbreaker and Chelsea Wolfe – and one that must be seen, felt and heard!
