This year’s film festival was initiated and founded by Fujian Radio Film and Television Group Strait TV, and hosted by Fujian Film Bureau, Fujian Radio and Television Bureau, Fujian Radio Film and Television Group, and Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone Management Committee. It is a collection of short film forums, screenings, and master classes. , Training camps, and commendation conferences in one high-standard professional film festival, aimed at supporting the creative power of young colleges and universities on both sides of the strait.

According to reports, this year’s film festival has collected 1,376 works from 290 universities around the world. After preliminary review and review, a total of 50 short films were shortlisted for screening, and the final awards include “Kirin Best Film”, “Kirin Best Director”, “Kirin Jury Award” and other awards. The film festival set up a total of 3.245 million yuan in support funds, of which the “Kirin Best Film” support amount was 300,000 yuan, and for the first time the “persistent exploration spirit” and “most creative work” awards were set up.

During the event, a series of related activities such as screening of shortlisted works, special screening units, film forums, and “Blessed Filmmakers” symposium were also held.

In recent years, Fujian Province has vigorously promoted the high-quality development of the film and television industry. The China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival has been held in Xiamen for a long time. The Silk Road International Film Festival and the IM Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival have continued to expand their influence, and the film and television industry chain has been continuously improved. As the venue for this year’s film festival, Pingtan gave full play to its regional advantages with Taiwan, and introduced measures such as “Pingtan Film and Television Policy (Revised Edition)” to speed up the gathering of elements of the film and television industry, build a platform for exchanges between young filmmakers on both sides of the strait, and create cross-strait film and television Pioneer zone for industrial development.
