Saturday night at Liberty building (Largo Marinai d’Italia 1, 9 pm, 10/15 euros) the teacher Beatrice Venezi returns to direct theMilan Classical Orchestra with a concert dedicated to the strength of women for an event in support of Pink Union, a project of the Humanitas Foundation in favor of scientific research for the treatment and prevention of female pathologies. The program ranges from Verdi to Bizet, to Astor Piazzolla. The concert will be preceded by a special talk between Beatrice Venezi and prof. Alberto Mantovani focused on the worlds of scientific research and classical music.
EXHIBITIONS-MARKET
In the weekend Villa Necchi Campiglio hosts the tenth edition of Citrus fruits. Knowledge and flavors of the Mediterranean (via Mozart 14, Saturday 12-18, Sunday 10-18, 7 euro, faiagrumi.it). The exhibition, set up between the garden and the tennis court, allows visitors to get to know that heritage of biodiversity typical of the Mediterranean landscape which are citrus fruits, from the Sorrento lemon to the Savona chinotto, from the Caribbean lime to the tacle, a new Sicilian hybrid that comes from the tarot and clementine. In addition to admiring the many species on display, visitors can participate in olfactory itineraries, tastings and meetings. You can buy plants, fruits, honeys, flavored beers, perfumes, cosmetics, refined decorations and many other selected products. By booking it is also possible to access the Villa for a guided tour.
EXHIBITIONS & MUSEUMS
From this weekend to Sozzani Foundation the exhibition is open Hyperillustrations (Corso Como 10, until March 27, 10.30-19.3, 6 euros, fondazionesozzani.org), created in collaboration with Bulgari: more than one hundred works by one of the most brilliant contemporary illustrators, François Berthoud, from the early Eighties to 2022, tell about 40 years of fashion. He has created many campaigns for the greats of fashion, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Givenchy, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and many others. Monday 14 at 18 meeting at the library of the Foundation with François Berthoud: we will talk about the book “Eros. These are the February titles: “Vulcano” by Omar Rashid, a documentary on the eruption of the Icelandic volcano Fagradalsfjall; “Happy Birthday”, short film on the phenomenon of hikikomori with the music of Achille Lauro; “Being an Astronaut”, the first VR film shot in space about the work of astronauts.
It opens this weekend in the Orangery of the Royal Villa of Monza the anthological exhibition Antonio Ligabue. The man, the artist (viale Brianza 1, until 1 May, Wed – Thu 10 am – 1 pm / 2 pm – 7 pm, Fri – Sun 10 am – 8 pm, 12 euros, reggiadimonza.it), which celebrates the long-misunderstood genius of Emilian artist. Ninety works, including paintings, sculptures, drawings and engravings trace his human and creative life, from the 1920s to 1962, when a paresis prevented him from continuing to paint.

Saturday theUkrainian Ballet Academy (via Quadronno 23, 10-13.30, reservations required, accademiaucraina.it) opens its doors to the public and, for those coming from far away, the first audition session opens on the same day (from 2.30 pm). During the day, the opportunity is offered to get to know all aspects of the “Art, Training and Culture” project, meet the teachers of the Academy, the heads of the school of the Istituto delle Marcelline (it is a lower secondary school and high school), direction of the Academy and tutors.

CINEMA & THEATER
Celebrates a twinning between stage and big screen theAntaeus Palazzo del Cinema (piazza XXV Aprile 8, 9 euro, anteo.spaziocinema.18tickets.it/film/13058) that on Sunday at 10.30 shows “Portrait of the young woman in flames” by Céline Sciamma, in collaboration with the Elfo Puccini Theater. In fact, the film is introduced by actress Elena Russo Arman, playwright Magdalena Barile and director Maria Caggianelli Villani, whose show “Gentleman Anne” is staged in the space of Corso Buenos Aires until February 20. The protagonist of both titles is the overwhelming passion that ignites between two women despite social conventions and interdictions.
Jane Campion again in the competition for the Oscars for directing and for best film: few in the history of the Academy Awards have been included in these categories, as we know, and she is the only two-time nominated for best director, having already received a statuette for the screenplay for “Piano Lessons”. To her there Film library dedicates a nice retrospective to MIC (viale Testi 12, until February 20, 7.50 euros, cinetecamilano.it): from the first short films to the film with which he is competing for the Oscars, the one that had the most nominations and that Venice has already awarded with the Lion for Direction.

From Sunday 13 February theSnai La Maura Racecourse opens the gates of via Lampugnano 95 to welcome Milanese families with the show of horse racing and entertainment for children. Apart from the races of the prestigious Mario Locatelli Grand Prix, scheduled many free activities dedicated to children: from the exciting baptism of the saddle on ponies to the Harry Potter themed workshops, all while enjoying cotton candy and popcorn always offered for free for an afternoon of party and fun. The afternoons of harness racing with entertainment for families and children will continue every Sunday until March 13th.
Saturday at Dolphin Theater (Piazza Carnelli, 4 pm, 8/10 euros) the Kohler trio explains to children (aged 3 to 13) the history of jazz: with live examples, from slave songs to cool jazz and beyond. Because the beauty of music must be trained from an early age. For this reason, sometimes, even adults would not hurt to follow these lessons.
SAINT VALENTINE
Sunday at 16.30 and Monday and Tuesday at 20.30 on Sky under Milan hosts Pocket Theatre (viale Molise, railway station of the Passante di Porta Vittoria, 15 euros, reservations at 340-4763017), English theater made by English actors. On stage the most famous (and sad) love story, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, in the original language with Italian surtitles, in an unusual context such as the spaces of the railway link: in its own way very romantic.
Villa Terzaghiheadquarters of the Maestro Martino Association chaired by chef Carlo Cracco, chooses San Valentino to launch its own heart menu (Ticino Park trout tartare accompanied by puffed polenta and pomegranate caviar; Carnaroli Riserva San Massimo rice creamed with beetroot, stracciatella and lemon accompanied by a fillet of veal with potato millefeuille in butter; montblanc with passion fruit and small patisserie) and inaugurate the exhibition “The Ambassadors of Taste: the future of Italian catering” signed by Giovanni Gastel for photography and Carlo Cracco for cooking and open until 31 July. The Carcano Theater for Valentine’s Day proposes the Lessons of wonder (Corso di Porta Romana 63, 8.30 pm, 18 euros, teatrocarcano.it): Andrea Colamedici and Maura Gancitano from Tlon teach the difficult art of being amazed, opening oneself to the outside and to others, taking nothing for granted but exercising what they call the “erotica of complexity”. The music and voice of NAIP, the whimsical revelation artist of X-Factor 2020, accompany them in this first meeting.
If the day is beautiful and you want to overdo it: Milan Hot air balloons (via Lodi, San Colombano, 1000 euros per couple, info: 333-2768297, milanomongolfiere) proposes a one-hour tour in the sky between Pavia and Piacenza with Milan in the background. The effect is guaranteed.
