The brand was born in December 2020, from the idea of 7 farms in the Stura valley, from Vignolo to Sambuco, to bring the flavors of the territory to everyone’s table. They succeeded thanks to a new e-commerce channel which, in addition to giving visibility, promotes a production philosophy based on the rhythm of nature and which makes exclusive use of local raw materials. Honey, mushrooms, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, meat, sweets, flours, drinks. A success that a year later is enriched with a prestigious award. The temporary association of companies «Montagnam» is now a consortium of protection and enhancement, has registered its trademark and has adopted a strict production disciplinary, which will be extended to other farms in the Stura valley already interested in joining the team.
The first president of the new consortium is Stefano Degiovanni, owner of Arbol di Moiola, a company in organic conversion specializing in chestnut cultivation, with a Garrone Rosso varietal selection, taking care of plants and undergrowth. «The Montagnam experiment was successful and we say it with pride, because it was not taken for granted – he says -. We experienced how it is not easy to talk and work together, but day after day we realized that the effort was worth it: being a team makes us stronger. The mission is broader than the enhancement and promotion of our activities and our products ». Then he points out: «Montagnam launches a challenge to the desertification of the mountain, it works to keep alive the traditions, culture and crafts of the High Lands that are in danger of disappearing. The price of our products will also become an added value, if we manage to make the commitment of our work perceived ».

In addition to Arbol, the list includes the Fossati di Sambuco Beekeeping, “La Fragolina” by Ilda Maccario, an organic farm that produces seasonal fruit and vegetables, mushrooms, juices and syrups in the Vignolo and Cornaletto Sottano areas in Demonte. Then the cooperative “Comunità Germinale” of Giulia Jannelli, engaged in Demonte in the cultivation and transformation of vegetables, potatoes, small fruits, recovery of abandoned chestnut groves and breeding of Sambucane sheep. The project also includes the company “Bars Chabrier” of Sambuco (the barma of the goats) of Marta Fossati and Luca Giacosa, which produce cheese and sheep and goat products. «Fiori dei Monti» is the business of the spouses Andrea Colombero and Barbara Viale, breeders of Piedmontese, Abondance and Valdostana cattle, producers of cheeses in Maigre di Moiola. Lastly, «Round trip», a restaurant in Rittana run by Debora Orso, from where you can leave for a trip and come back for refreshments, but also do the shopping.
