The dirt bike is electric: the same power as a combustion one

by admin

The dirt bike becomes electric, maintaining the same power as one with a combustion engine. The Stark Varg, produced by the Swedish motor company Stark Future, officially enters production and will be available in October next year. The price is certainly not low, we are talking about at least 12 thousand euros starting, but the performances are from “competition” and, above all, it has unparalleled flexibility.

It took two years to develop and make the project concrete, but we are in the final stages: production will start in the next period in Barcelona. What characterizes Stark Varg is the 60kW engine which, through the management software, can give space to a wide range of options, transforming the two-wheeled vehicle into a motorcycle equivalent to a 125cc two-stroke or a 650cc to four times. The secret, as well as in the software, lies in the special battery which also becomes part of the bike frame: 6kWh of power all contained in a weight of around 32 kg.

The autonomy, then, is record-breaking: 6 hours of full power for off-road routes typical of a cross-country competition. In addition, the battery recharging is very fast, one or two hours at the most. The rest of the frame, made of high-strength composite material, weighs much less than a traditional motocross, while maintaining the same strength. Finally, the battery has another peculiarity, it does not have liquids and the cooling takes place by means of the air that “hits” the bike during its use.

Another feature is the ability to change the configuration of the electric motor during use, through a smartphone. There are also many options: different 18 and 19-inch rear wheels, “intelligent” suspensions that can be configured according to the driver’s weight, choice of how to have the rear brake (pedal or handlebar).

Pre-orders, with a deposit of 100 euros, can be made right now, while taking into account that the two-wheeled vehicle will not be delivered before October 2022. However, the choice of the engine must be made immediately, among the 60 HP one (approx. 12,000 euros) and the 80 HP one (about 13,000 euros).
