So Stellantis has decided to “remunerate” the eco-friendly behavior driving the New 500, the first full electric of the Fiat brand. All through an ad hoc system, the green-tech start-up of Kiri Technologies in synergy with the Stellantis e-Mobility app. A system that works in 13 European countries by assigning the KiriCoin, a virtual currency that can be spent in a dedicated marketplace.
The name “Kiri” is not accidental. In Japan it is Paulownia, the tree that absorbs the most CO2 in absolute terms and over 10 times more than any other plant: a single hectare of this tree compensates for about 30 tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent of the emissions produced by 30 cars running for the same period. Through the Fiat app, you can check the accumulated KiriCoins and your driving style: the gentler it is, without accelerating or braking abruptly, the softer the eco: score will grow. Drivers with the highest levels will get extra rewards such as Amazon, Apple Music, Netflix, Spotify and Zalando vouchers.
