by admin

ROME – The luxury of a 60’s day, in the most chic holiday resorts of Tuscany, Lazio, Campania, Puglia, Sicily and Sardinia: the idea is from the rental company Hertz Italia who, after launching the project in the pre-pandemic period, now he is even more convinced that the union of cars, Made in Italy and tourism in the beautiful country are the right move to restart Italy in complete safety. The premium service “Selezione Italia” (online and offline) now enriches its rental fleet with Fiat 500 Jolly Icon-e “Spiaggina” in the new electric version, in 5 bright colors: Aqua Turquoise, Sky Blue, Mediterranean Blue, Rosa Budelli and Verdello di Sicilia.

“A way to remember the Italy of the boom – commented Massimiliano Archiapatti, General Manager and CEO of Hertz Italia, at his debut. – I am happy with this recovery and proud of the great work we have managed to complete despite the difficulties of the period. We are ready to welcome guests who want to travel in maximum safety aboard our fleet. This is only the first of the novelties we are preparing but we do not want to anticipate next season ”. Another model linked to the partnership with Garage Italia Custom, after, for example, the entry into the price list of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Grand Tour, which had amazed with Renaissance-like frescoes inside.

To encourage traveling by car, Hertz has now thought about escapism, holidays and summer, offering Italians and foreigners a new experience and aiming today at the restoration of a model that has made the boot famous all over the world: tested and approved for regular use in historic centers. Fiat 500 Jolly Icon-e “Spiaggina”: 120 km of autonomy

We are talking about a real restomod for the 500 which, inspired by the 1958 Ghia Jolly, undergoes an “ecological” restoration with the adoption of a 13.25 kW electric unit. The heat engine has been replaced by a power unit with 9 kWh lithium battery, developed in collaboration with Newtron Group in Termini Imerese: instead of the gear lever, in the central tunnel, it boasts a very simple button selector. Once behind the wheel it is also possible to select the preferred pace (hare / turtle) according to the use, which allows you to reach speeds of up to 85 km / h or save the battery to the maximum, to reach the declared 120 km.

Two APPs are available for recharging (EVway and Nextcharge) through which you access a map that indicates the main refueling points, with characteristics and availability, being able to start the “full” from the same, which takes place from 4 to 8 hours at depending on the infrastructure.

Il premium service: costs

Not to be underestimated – especially for photoshooting lovers – that the “Selezione Italia” project also allows you to choose the color of the Fiat 500 “Spiaggina” and therefore not run into the first available one, as often happens with renters. The choice also includes the welcome service and the technical briefing, for a price starting from 208 euros per day, if the check-in takes place at the centers. Obviously, it can also include delivery directly to the hotel or home (additional cost per kilometer), for a service with “white gloves”, in the name of excellence, as well as Covid protection. It is no coincidence that they call their customer “Guest”, to make them understand all this and more: being on holiday in Italy is first of all a guarantee of hospitality. In the event of “adverse” weather, online, the possibility of opting for other cars never driven before, perhaps focusing on tradition and performance.
