The Government’s fronts: the CGT threatens a new strike while the ministers try to get closer to the governors

The co-secretary general of the CGT and deputy of the Truckers Union, Pablo Moyanostated this Tuesday that the labor union plans to “a large general strike” in rejection of the “permanent cutback” measures promoted by the national government. Meanwhile, the Executive maintains an ambivalent position with the provincial leaders: while President Javier Milei attacks several governors on social networks, with controversial or suggestive outbursts likes that dynamite the possibilities of diplomatic communication, some Government ministers – with Guillermo Francos and Luis Caputo at the helm – seek to strengthen dialogue and points of contact with the governors to put a cold shoulder to the conflictive link between Casa Rosada and the provinces.

In this context, Pablo Moyano indicated that “naturally there will be a large general strike” and he also slipped that “it is only a matter of talking to the leadership of the workers’ union. This permanent cut, where it is always linked to workers and retirees, the CGT is not going to allow it.”

The union leader explained that “The anger is growing, there is unemployment in all sectors”.

“There are strikes in trains, health, state, teachers,” the Cegetista leader reviewed and pointed out: “The policies against the Argentine people are visible, Milei only governs for the business sector.”

“It has been proven that the caste is the workers, the retirees, the state companies, and from the CGT we are not going to allow it,” he stated within the framework of the press conference given by Governor Axel Kicillof in La Plata.

In this context, the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, seeks to strengthen dialogue with provincial governors to deactivate one of the main sources of conflict in the Government.

The official indicated this Tuesday on his social networks that he had a “good meeting” with the president of Salta, Gustavo Sáenz.

We continue on the path of dialogue to jointly solve the problems of the province and advance the necessary regulations to attract large investments in essential sectors such as lithium,” Francos published.

A similar position was adopted by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, who praised the governor of Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo, for his “excellent relationship with the Nation” in his X accountdifferentiating itself from the “extreme measures” promoted in Chubut.

“Jaldo governs Tucumán, defends his province, is the opposition, and maintains an excellent relationship with the Nation.
It is not incompatible,” Caputo tweeted and then left a message for Ignacio Torres: “Jaldo rejected ‘the extreme measures’ and affirmed that Torres did not tell the truth”.
