The four winners of the thirty-two edition of Musicultura, awarded at the Sferisterio of Macerata (an acoustic miracle), under the supervision of a conductor – Enrico Ruggeri – who was, and is, one of them, are wonderful attempts to create worlds alternative music.

Not wisps, but authentic authors (and musicians, here’s the news) of the nouvelle vague of author music. They are called “The jab” (Absolute winners), authors of “Giovani Favolosi” Lorenzo Lepore (Best Text Award) with “Futuro” Mille (Critics Award) with “La Radio” and Caravaggio, Italian Phonograph Association Award for “Things that we really loved. After a night in Paradise and months (years) of Purgatory between rehearsal rooms and doubts about letting go or not and sleepless nights, the Hell of choices and the crossroads of compromises between creation and market await them.

The music market, for those who are now twenty years old – like these guys – will leave them no way out. These fabulous young people were the protagonists of the most impressive marathon (over a thousand candidates this year) dedicated by Musicultura to songwriting and Italian popular music, for thirty-two years mirror (sometimes oblique), of the young songwriting sensibilities in our Country.

Musicultura and the Controra are a widespread review that tries, among the irregular waves of the loss of musical taste, to offer young songwriters not so much a showcase but rather a laboratory in which to experiment without the obsession of having to please at any cost. All winners, selected by a jury that coincides with the history of the song, shared the Sferisterio stage with Subsonica (who celebrated their 25-year career here) Ermal Meta, The Representative list, Marisa Laurito, the historian Michele D’Andrea (with an amazing lectio on our Hymn), Colapesce-Dimartino, Irene Grandi d Gianmaria Coccoluto (with an exciting homage to his father).
