The operation is part of the 8.3 million euro investment announced by Porto Antico di Genova Spa by the beginning of 2025 to change the face of the “Marina Fiera Genova”, a historic dockyard with 400 berths (to which another 313 will be added of the Levante Waterfront). Meanwhile, the boat show is preparing to become the reference point for the industry of the sector and has begun its path of approach starting from the United States which permanently represent the first market for Italian yachting in the world, with ten years of double growth. figure. Italian yachting has its place of records in the American market and in 2021 it recorded a turnover of around 500 million dollars, while 2022 is already up 102% over the same period last year. A result achieved because the Italian pleasure boating industry is the quintessence of “made in Italy” with boats built in the name of high tech, design, materials, performance, innovation, style and creativity.

Thus, the prestigious Yacht Club of New York, in Manhattan, welcomed for the first time in the USA the presentation of the Genoa International Boat Show. And when Marco Segato, CEO of Sanlorenzo Americas, the Ligurian company world leader in super yachts, presented the company’s video, the images left the American audience stunned: dynamic lines, modern furnishings, enveloping elegance on masterpieces from 24 to 70 meters long. “They are floating villas”, Segato defined them, recalling the growth of the company. Sanlorenzo builds 65 super yachts a year, a record number and many customers are Americans, especially from the east coast. “The nautical sector is a sector that moves more than six billion euros a year – recalled Stefano Pagani Isnardi, the director of the Confindustria nautica studies office – and that already in March this year the export of Italian yachts reached $ 3.5 billion. The first importer of Made in Italy is the USA. The three leaders in the super yacht sector are Italian: Sanlorenzo, Ferretti Group and Azimut Benetti ”.
