The opera season at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice is restarting and the premiere of «Fidelio» scheduled for Saturday 20 November at 7 pm will be live streaming on the GEDI websites. The premiere of one of the most important Italian theaters will be broadcast live for the first time, accessible to all, on the websites la Repubblica, La Stampa and Huffington Post Italia.

«After the difficulties of this last year and a half, the opera season of the historic Teatro La Fenice in Venice will restart with the premiere of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fidelio. An important cultural initiative that sanctions the reopening of the theater after the restrictions on the activities that the GEDI Group is happy to support »reads the press release.

The only opera composed by Beethoven, Fidelio will be presented in a new staging of the Venetian Theater directed by Joan Anton Rechi, sets by Gabriel Insignares, costumes by Sebastian Ellrich and light design by Fabio Barettin. The musical direction of the show will instead be entrusted to the Korean maestro Myung-Whun Chung, who will direct Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro La Fenice with a prestigious cast composed for the main roles of Ian Koziara (Florestan), Tilmann Rönnebeck (Rocco) and Tamara Wilson ( Leonore).
