The Verbania library also opens on Sunday: “There were so many requests”

by admin

Twelve more hours of weekly opening characterize the new timetable of the Verbania library which expands the service. The audience goes from 41 to 53 hours of reception every week. The main novelty is that of Sunday. It starts next weekend: Sunday will be open from 15 to 18.30. «It is a particularly popular day, especially in winter which attracts families and a“ relaxed ”public that is not limited by the usual rush» says director Andrea Cassina.

From this weekend, therefore, the library will remain open on Sunday afternoon with all its sections: “Bibliobebé” for children under 5, “Bibliokids” for children from 6 to 12, “Freely” for teenagers from 13 to 20, “Audio & video” or “Verbania & surroundings” linked to history and interests locals.

The timetable for the other days has also been extended: from Tuesday to Saturday it will continue from 9 to 18.30 (no more interruption from 12.30 to 14). “The intent is to facilitate those who work and can use the lunch break to take or return a book as well as students who do not have to interrupt in this way” continues Cassina.

The opening also from 12.30 to 14 is experimental and encourages the “self-check” system, ie the autonomous management of the service. Then there is a reset: the evening schedule on Wednesdays until 9pm as was the case before the pandemic. It remains closed on Monday. “The new timetable will be maintained for the whole of 2022 and is possible thanks to the contribution that the Municipality has obtained from the Compagnia di San Paolo” explains the councilor for Culture Riccardo Brezza.
