Theaters, cinemas, orchestras: this is how the entertainment world offers solidarity to Ukraine

All united against war and in favor of peace and negotiations. Institutions, squares and even places of entertainment: theaters, cinemas, orchestras, dance companies. Tonight on the stage ofElf Puccini an evening of solidarity and testimonies is staged by those who have just returned from Ukraine and by those who still resist in those territories. To give a voice to those who are victims of this war, to give a voice to culture, but also to make a concrete contribution. The proceeds (admission ticket: 5 euros) will be donated to the Sfera Public Assistance Association.

Particularly precious will be the testimony of Matteo Spiazzi, a director who in the days before the Russian attack was in Kiev where he should have made his debut on February 25 with a show on the history of Ukraine, “Momenti”, created as part of the # stage4ukraine project . After the first days in which he had found refuge in a basement, the director returned to Italy and now he is organizing a network from here to allow young students of the Kiev Academy, where he teaches, to find a safe refuge in Verona. With some of his students she will tell about her journey and propose a reflection on the importance of cultural work in such a dramatic moment.

During the evening there will be a connection with Stanislav Szhyrkov, director of the Left Bank Theater and professor of the Kiev Academy of Dramatic Arts. Moderated by Ferdinando Bruni and Elio De Capitani. The evening will be streamed on Elfo’s YouTube channel.

From the stage to the big screen. Starting from Friday 11 March, numerous rooms throughout Italy – from Milan and Rome to Palermo – will program the film by the Ukrainian director and writer Iryna Tsilyk, “The Earth Is Blue as an Orange”an award-winning documentary shot in the Donbass that offers the opportunity to learn more about the country and Ukrainian culture through the daily life of a family who are passionate about cinema and hungry for life despite the bombs.

Next Thursday 19 March, at 8.45 pm on the stage of theEco Theater of via Fezzan will be held on Gala “Dance for Ukraine”, the proceeds of which will be donated to the population affected by the war. The initiative is organized by the AUB Ukrainian Academy of Ballet in Milan, excellence in the teaching of classical dance which represents one of the best and longest-lived artistic marriages between Ukraine and our country, and by EcoTeatro di Milano, the eco-sustainable hall particularly sensitive to the issue of social responsibility in places of culture.

The show will feature guests and students of the Academy, with performances from the classical repertoire, solos, duos and ensembles, and others from the tradition of Russian and Ukrainian dance, who will shake hands on stage, as a sign of brotherhood and peace. Among the guests, the dancer Ramon Agnelli.
