Screenwriters and film industry workers who are white, male, and straight struggle to find work in Hollywood. The new trend is to make women, members of ethnic minorities, people of color, exponents of the LGBT world work. Nobody dares to openly criticize these choices, for fear of being definitively marginalized. But the climate is so heavy that many are already talking about a new McCarthyism, and the absurdity of wanting to end discrimination by creating more discrimination.
