Think 2040 of Biennale Democrazia to talk about theater, culture, legality

TURIN. One planet, many worlds, this is the starting point of the Biennial of Democracy in Turin. The theme had already been identified in 2019, then came the pandemic that upset our lives, providing an exemplary demonstration of how much we depend on the global context. On a planet where everything appears interconnected, it becomes increasingly urgent to act in concert. Faced with such unlikely challenges, there is a strong risk of being seduced by authoritarian drifts. Will democratic societies be able to recover the moral and political strength necessary to manage inevitable changes? It will be discussed in Turin until 10 October. Second stage for Pensa2040, a project born in 2013 thanks to the non-profit organization Crisi Come Opportunita e Italia che Cambia, and which lands today and tomorrow at the Biennale Democrazia 2021 in Tornino with three appointments between theater, culture and legality.

On Friday 8 and Saturday 9 October Pensa2040 – with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo – will bring to the stage three events aimed at enhancing key issues for the territory. In the Aula Magna of the Polytechnic of Turin, on Friday 8 October at 15:00, we will talk about Transaction: Theoretical-Practical Transition Exercises together with Andrea Colamedici, Alex Braga and Cristiano Bottone. On Saturday 9 October, a double appointment goes: at 5.00 pm, in the Auditorium of the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper Ten Years After the Minotaur Trial. The Mafias In Piedmont with Elena Ciccarello, Davide Donatiello, Rocco Sciarrone and Roberto Sparagna; while at 7.30 pm, at the Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani, Se Dicessimo La Verità is staged, the show by Emanuela Giordano and Giulia Minoli, which is an integral part of the Crisi Come Opportunity project, The stage of legality, followed by debate with Gaetano Saffiotti. “Two days of events dedicated to theater, culture and legality – explains Giulia Minoli, vice president of CCO – Crisi Come Opportunity – and carefully constructed for an event like the Biennale Democrazia for citizenship”.

Crisis Come Opportunity and Italia che Cambia brought the American Think2040 initiative to Italy, with the aim of making an entire generation, that of millennials, aware of its own value, of being the protagonist of change, through a shared commitment, in respect diversity, for the achievement of the collective good.

The first very lucky stop was in March 2021, in Florence, an appointment made possible thanks to the support of Intesa Sanpaolo and which saw the Public Notice, the Giancarlo Siani Onlus Foundation, the Biennale Democrazia collaborate with Crisi Come Opportunity and Italia Che Cambia to start a path aimed at building a network for the exchange of good practices between associations and administrators; the aim is to outline a horizon for the definition of an extraordinary ten-year national cultural plan to combat organized crime. Think 2040 is culture and active citizenship, a key tool in the fight against organized crime.
