Ubisoft Announces “Blue Sea and Black Sails” will be released on November 8, 2022

After years of waiting, Ubisoft is finally releasing Blue Sea and Black Sails on November 8, 2022. At that time, the sailing game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia, PC (Epic Games Store and Ubisoft International Store).

“Blue Sea and Black Sails” was first announced in 2017, but development work began as early as 2013. The game, based on the naval combat system of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, has gone through multiple delays, with annual delays starting in 2018 — until now.

In “Blue Sea and Black Sails”, the player is the captain of a pirate ship, accepting contracts, collecting resources, sailing on the high seas and looting merchant ships. The player’s different choices will affect the progress of the game. As the pirate level increases, players can unlock more customization options for their ships.

Set in the ‘Second Golden Age of Piracy’ at the end of the 17th century, Blue Sea and Black Sails allows players to team up with up to two friends and start PvP against other players on the high seas. This site will publish a developer interview in the near future, which includes many game details (for example, “Blue Sea and Black Sails” will not have a main campaign), so stay tuned.

Ubisoft is promising a ‘robust multi-year update plan with regular free content, events, stories and challenges’ for Black Sails.

In addition to the consoles and PCs mentioned above, players can also play Blue Sea and Black Sails through the Ubisoft+ subscription service. Purchase the premium version of the game to get two additional missions, digital soundtrack and art set, the Bloody Skull Song Collection Pack (includes cosmetic items for captains and ships), and a ‘Black Sail Pass’ token .
