Used crossovers sold online, Renault Captur wins

by admin

ROMA – The “crossover” segment continues to grow steadily both among first-registration vehicles and on the second-hand market. In online sales, crossovers are particularly sought after, so much so that they have reached third place in the ranking of models preferred by Italian motorists, behind small cars and sport utility vehicles. The analysts of Brumbrum, the first direct online car dealer in Italy, have drawn up a ranking of the best-selling crossovers online on our market in the last twelve months, based on data collected by the internal observatory of online statistical surveys and surveys in the automotive sector. . Taking the victory in the “hit parade” of the best-selling used crossovers online is the compact Captur by Renault followed, in second place, by the Mini Countryman, the Mini crossover format that exceeds the Volkswagen T-Roc by a few units. The ranking then continues with Opel Crossland X, Toyota C-HR, Nissan Juke, Volkswagen T-Cross, Seat Arona, Citroen C3 Aircross and Mazda CX-3, completing the top ten in which there are no made in Italy models. It should also be noted that over half of the used crossovers purchased online have a price between 20,000 and 25,000 euros, followed by the range from 15,000 to 20,000 euros, chosen by 30% of Italians.

According to the Brumbrum observatory, the search for a crossover online for less than 15,000 euros is not an easy task, and only 4% manage to buy one for less than this figure, while 13% spend more than 25,000 euros. In terms of the choice of engines, in this type of vehicle diesel continues to dominate with over half of the cars sold on the network fueled by diesel, with petrol models stopping at 33%, almost twenty percentage points away. The hybrid engine is growing and last year scored an excellent 10.5%, a sharp increase compared to the past, while for LPG it recorded a 2%, with even lower numbers for methane and electric. Finally, as regards the transmission, the automatic transmission continues to increase compared to the manual, even if the gap is still considerable, 32%, against 68%, percentages that were unthinkable until about twenty years ago. “However, it is difficult to think of reaching balance with the manual one – conclude Brumbrum analysts – vehicles remain with a low selling price and an automatic gearbox would significantly increase their cost on the market. Compared to SUVs, for example, it is very unlikely that the automatic transmission on crossovers will be able to further increase its diffusion in the coming years ”. (mr)
