Valentino chooses Venice to present his couture collection: the event on July 15th

by admin

After Rome in January, it will be Venice to host the Valentino Haute Couture collection show for autumn-winter 2021-22, announced for Thursday 15 July. This is a first return to the shows in attendance, since the event will be open to a small number of guests, which also marks the renewal of the choice to stay in Italy, after the presentation of the spring-summer collection in January in the halls of Palazzo Colonna in Rome, the home city of the maison.

“One of the most demanding challenges of my work in this unprecedented era was reprogramming some of my recurring thoughts, which obviously also include the concept and venue for my couture shows – declared Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative director of Valentino -. The current disposition of “fantasy travel” in which we find ourselves has led me to dream bigger. My next Couture collection will be called Valentino Des Ateliers and the general approach to this project is closely linked to this name. I challenged myself to orchestrate a symphony of different souls, minds, and creative inputs. And all these energies brought my vision to Venice. This city genuinely and spontaneously generates vibrations concerning art, music, architecture, cinema and everything related to creativity. That is why it was a natural decision to continue with this idea. I am a designer, a fashion creator, and I need to put my vision in specific frames. Venice is the setting for the Valentino Des Ateliers collection ».

The show will be broadcast live digitally on the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode website and on the maison’s channels. Its location has not yet been disclosed, in the city that has just greeted the inauguration of the Architecture Biennale and which on September 1st will see the opening of the 78th edition of the Biennale del Cinema. Valentino recently announced the farewell to furs and a restructuring of the collections, with the closing of the second Red Valentino line starting in 2024.
