According to China Dubbing Network, the dubbing artist Ma Yuling passed away in Dalian at 16:00 on June 21, 2021, at the age of 91. In 1952, Ma Yuling was transferred to Changying Translation and Production by the Beijing Municipal Central Ministry of Health’s Cultural Works Troupe as a voice actor. Dubbing of more than 300 translated films from more than 20 countries including “Butterfly Dream”.
In her early years, Ma Yuling portrayed lively, cheerful, hot, and open images of young women. She is also good at portraying drunks, witches, mental disorders, schizophrenia or eccentric characters. In the later period, the images of vicissitudes, kind-hearted old men, or cold, insidious middle-aged and elderly women are often portrayed. Among them, the prostitute Yoda in “Unemployed Freedom”, the maid in “One Servant and Two Masters”, and the Lenny in “Million Pounds” are her own most satisfactory artistic images, while in “Paul Kochagin” Tonya is the most popular image.
