Two “West Lake Masters” made a surprise appearance at Jay Chou’s Hangzhou concert, delighting fans and the singer himself. Uncle Shao, 73, and Uncle Zhou, 67, joined Jay Chou on stage to sing some of his iconic songs, including “Daoxiang” and “East Wind Break.”

The two uncles, known for their renditions of Jay Chou’s songs by West Lake, were invited to the concert after Jay Chou expressed his admiration for their performances. Uncle Shao and Uncle Zhou, who have garnered attention for their heartfelt singing, received a warm welcome from fans and even had the chance to meet their idol Fang Wenshan backstage.

During the concert, Uncle Zhou and Uncle Shao sang along with Jay Chou, capturing the hearts of the audience. Jay Chou, touched by their dedication, fulfilled Uncle Zhou’s dream of singing “Daoxiang” together on stage.

After the performance, Uncle Zhou expressed his hope for Jay Chou to settle in Hangzhou after retirement, while Uncle Shao recommended the peaceful Su Causeway for a singing spot. The surprise collaboration between Jay Chou and the West Lake masters was made possible by Hangzhou Cultural Tourism, creating a “special memory” for fans in Hangzhou.

As a result of this heartwarming encounter, Hangzhou plans to establish several “city branch venues” for concerts, allowing fans to enjoy music in various locations across the city. The unexpected collaboration between Jay Chou and the West Lake masters will surely remain a cherished moment for fans and citizens alike.
