ROME – The car market, in Italy as in all of Europe, is changing rapidly. The numbers explain this small revolution best of all. In Europe, hybrid cars (excluding plug-ins) are in second place in the third quarter with 20.7% of the market share, behind petrol (39.5%) but ahead of diesel (17.6%), which loses 10 points in a year. This growth comes in particular from Central European countries, where hybrid sales increased by 69.3% between July and September.

While, thanks to strong incentives, plug-in hybrids and electric have almost doubled their presence, with 9.8 and 9.1% of the market. Norway is the market with the largest presence in the world of battery cars with 72% of the total. Sweden, on the other hand, reaches a percentage of 25%, ahead of the Netherlands at 18.8%.
