72% of doctors in Romania are against compulsory vaccination against Covid for those who work in the healthcare sector. This is what emerges from a survey created by Fems, the European Federation of Salaried Doctors, in various EU countries, including Italy.
“Over 90% of doctors in Europe declared vaccination necessary not only for those who work in health care but also for other professional sectors, such as education and other forms of residential care”, reads a note from Anaao. -Assomed, the Italian association that is part of Fems. Only Romania, a country that shares the lowest rates in the EU of population vaccinated against Covid with Bulgaria, remains distant from this position, with 72% of the doctors interviewed declaring that they are against mandatory vaccination, both for the health personnel than in the general population. “The incongruity of this data raises numerous question marks on the quality of political and social communication in Romania since, in addition to the low percentage of immunization, this country is accompanied by a high occupancy of intensive care beds, so much so that, in a different session of the conference, Romanian doctors wished for an increase in intensive beds to cope with the high number of patients “, writes Anaao-Assomed.

In the other EU countries where the survey was carried out (Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Cyprus, the Netherlands and Portugal), the percentage of vaccinated doctors remains very high, over 90% as well as the willingness to propose to their govern the mandatory vaccine for the entire population, with percentages hovering above 80%.
“The explanation of such a compact position, which has rarely been seen in a professional category – comments Alessandra Spedicato of Anaao Assomed – is that vaccination, being part of a scientific path and not a political idea or a matter of opinion, is not it encounters no obstacles of a confabulatory or conspiratorial nature in doctors.
