A short film tells about the empathy between doctor and patient – Health

by admin

A doctor helps a patient who needs home care. He takes care of her with empathy, to the point that he himself understands what to do with the future of his life. This is the central theme of “While you weren’t there”, a short film produced by Medica Group in collaboration with Mercatorum Universitas and Laserfilm, directed by Maurizio Rigatti and photography by Gianni Mammolotti.

The project, conceived and produced by Gianluca Melillo Muto, director of communication and institutional relations of Medica Group, was scientifically validated by Giandominik Bossone, specialist in palliative care. In the cast, Lodo Guenzi and Eleonora Giovanardi and Elena Cotta, as well as the young Nicola Amato, Raffaella Anzalone and Khrystyna Novak.

“The film – comments the president of Medica Group, Riccardo Starace – tells the story of a doctor who by helping one of his patients in integrated home care is in turn helped to put his life back on track. But also how important it is from a side to follow with professionalism, hence the need for constant high-profile professional health training, and empathy for the care of those who are unfortunately forced to live a debilitating disease that must be constantly followed and treated. It is the best way to help those who suffer – concludes the president of Medica Group – is always to see in the patient not a sick person ‘to be treated’ but a person to ‘take care of’. Hence the unique bond that is established between health professionals and patients that can change life as much of one as of the other, both in the ward and above all at home “. (HANDLE).
