A two-color traffic light: how the app to check the green pass of profs works

The platform queries the database to find out, for each employee of the school, who has the green pass and who does not. It will then show the secretariats an interface where each employee will be associated with a red or green color, thus establishing the right to enter the school or not.

The platform can thus calculate even if the teacher is red – and therefore obliged to home – for at least five days, triggering the suspension of the salary. This too is automatic and removed from the possibility of intervention by the principals, because it is all automatic; all recordable from the platform in a national system.

From a purely technological point of view, the platform completes the digitization process of green passes, because it automates the last link in the chain. The green pass is already a possible system, in Europe, thanks to an automatic sharing of information between different structures and states (vaccination center, regions, central state, Europe…).

From a regulatory point of view, the scenario is less linear and in fact the Privacy Guarantor is called upon to express himself; has already warned that a list of no vax teachers, obtained through this automatic platform, would not be acceptable.

The regulatory issues

“First of all it will be necessary to protect access to this platform well, to prevent malicious people from accessing the data on who has and who does not have the green pass,” says the lawyer specialized in digital law Fulvio Sarzana. «It will be necessary to ensure compliance with the privacy regulations by those who will use the platform. It is a great challenge to train school staff in this regard, in such a short time », adds the lawyer Diego Di Malta.
