The SMA Families campaign restarts with a new video to joke about commonplaces related to disability. And invite you to support the association’s activities for 20 years alongside people with spinal muscular atrophy. After Checco Zalone, Michela Giraud: the Roman comedian wrote and performed the short, directed by Giacomo Spaconi. Rare genetic disease in which motor skills are progressively lost, spinal muscular atrophy affects mainly in children (in Italy about 40-50 children with SMA are born every year) making daily gestures such as sitting and standing difficult, in cases more severe swallow and breathe. The title of the new campaign (“A whole other SMA”) starts from an observation: thanks to research, the disease is less scary than a few years ago. And it wants to be at the same time a wish: that thanks to the support of all, coexistence is less and less difficult.
