Jimmy Donaldson, star on YouTube of a channel called “MrBeast” which has more than 71 million subscribers, spent about $ 2 million – plus 1,5 in prizes – to organize a game identical to Squid Game, the popular South Korean series from Netflix.
From the arena to the green suits, to the large dormitory, everything is identical to the original set and every game plays the same way. The only fundamental difference is that no one has ever been in danger of life.
The 456 competitors, vying to win the 456 thousand dollars final, were eliminated through un electronic device, positioned on the belly, which simulated a gunshot wound when a game has not been passed. Someone also had a GoPro on his chest to film his actions in person. The same goes for the ‘guards’ in red overalls, who instead of weapons handled video cameras to take a closer look at the participants. A small cash prize also went to those who failed to reach the final.
