There are women who cannot and those who do not want to reconstruct their breasts after mastectomy. And there are those for which reconstruction takes a long time, over a year. It may seem like a secondary problem for someone facing breast cancer, but keeping your image when you return to everyday life outside the hospital has a heavy weight on the patient’s psyche.
