Albenga. Citizens who in recent days (with a reservation) went to the Santa Maria di Misericordia hospital in Albenga to visit a hospitalized relative have been denied entry and have been sent back.
Following some reports, we asked the chief physician of medicine Teresiano De Franceschi for clarification on the reasons: “It is true, the visits of relatives of patients admitted to the medical ward have been suspended. One of our patients discharged a few days ago and negative for the swab five or six days later went to the emergency room and it emerged that, despite being asymptomatic, she was positive for Covid “.
Therefore, “as a precaution and prudential, the health management, pending the results of the swabs of the whole department, has inhibited access to anyone from the outside, therefore also to the relatives of the patients. The swabs have proved negative on all health personnel, doctors and patients. A preventive act, given that no one is positive about Covid ”, explains De Franceschi.
Unofficially, the news is that, despite the negativity of the tampons, the ward will remain off-limits to visits until Monday.
