by admin

Amazon will open three new sorting depots in Vicenza, Treviso and Riese Pio X, in the province of Treviso. The new facilities will be operational from next autumn and will serve customers residing in Vicenza, Treviso and the surrounding areas.

The new sites will help strengthen the delivery service for customers and sellers and will create over 240 permanent jobs, including Amazon staff (60 people in warehouses) and third-party supplier staff (over 180 drivers). Amazon Logistics will, in fact, work with various local delivery service providers, investing in its logistics network. In Veneto, Amazon has already created over 550 places through a distribution center between Castelguglielmo and San Bellino, in the province of Rovigo, and two sorting depots in Verona and Vigonza, in the province of Padua.

The new deposits will be built with sustainable characteristics and high energy efficiency, in line with The Climate Pledge co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism, the commitment to achieve zero CO2 emissions by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement. . “In a difficult time like the one we are experiencing, we are proud to be able to contribute to the creation of 240 permanent jobs thanks to the opening of these new warehouses,” said Gabriele Sigismondi, head of Amazon Logistics in Italy.
