We still don’t know what the iPhone 13 will look like, which will come presented on Tuesday 14 September, but already rumors circulated by one of the bloggers specialized in leaks from Cupertino and dubious reputation, Jon Prosser.
According to Prosser, with the 14 Pro Max version of the iPhone, which will be presented exactly in a year, Apple will get rid of the notch, the notch on the screen that contains the double camera for facial recognition. But the FaceId system will not be suppressed, because in reality the double camera will be hidden in the phone screen, in a way that is apparently not too different from what some Android phones already do.
Apple, the new iPhones arrive on September 14th

This hypothesis had already been advanced several months ago by a much more reliable analyst than Prosser, namely Ming-Chi Kuo. According to him, the change would have come only for some phones and not for all: the iPhone Max Pro is currently, as the name implies, the largest and widest in the Apple smartphone line, and therefore probably the one with the space to accommodate a solution of this kind.
According to Prosser, however, Apple’s solution would be, at least next year, that of a hole in the display to place a traditional camera and not a system based on sensors diffused on the surface of the OLED screen.
Kuo had also predicted that between 2022 and 2023 the technology of the rear video cameras would have radically changed, using a telescope system that takes up less space (and therefore the rear hump would disappear) because it makes the lens make a right angle, allowing it to be flattened significantly increasing the focal length. This would allow for a much more effective autofocus system.

Another note is that relating to the body of the phone, which would become titanium, with other minor changes relating to the materials used in the construction, which they would make the iPhone 14 more resistant, durable and less sensitive to scratches and other superficial micro-incisions. Finally, the volume buttons would return to having a round shape and no longer elongated, as it was in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5.
