Andrea Presti to Mister Olympia: Italy had been missing for 28 years

by admin

The bodybuilder qualified for Mister Olympia by winning the Portugal Pro 2021. Born in 1987, originally from Val Camonica, he started from judo as the father

28 years have passed since the last time. But Italy is back and the credit goes to Andrea Presti. Italy returns to bodybuilding “Mister Olympia”, the most important international bodybuilding event that saw Arnold Schwarzenegger triumph, Terminator at the cinema and governor of Texas from 2003 to 2011. Now, however, it is the turn of Presti , from Brescia of Team Yamamoto Nutrition, who broke the pass thanks to the victory obtained in Portugal Pro 2021 in Estoril.

A HISTORICAL COMPANY

In the Portuguese contest of the IFBB Pro, the 33-year-old blue rose to the top step of the podium thanks to a better condition of draft and muscle definition, which allowed him to get the better of German Tim Budesheim (second) and Brazilian William Martins (third). The company is one of the historical ones: the Italy of male body building did not enter Mr. Olympia in the “Open” category (the first and most important of the review) since 1993, with Mauro Sarni and Flavio Baccianini, in the year in which British Dorian Yates won the second of his six titles. As then, it will compete in Southeast America: this time in Orlando, Florida (in 1993 the event was hosted by Atlanta, Georgia) from 7-10 October.

GIVE JUDO TO CULTURISM

Andrea Presti, IFBB bodybuilding professional, originally from Val Camonica, was born in the Brescia province 34 years ago. Son of a famous judoka, Andrea started training his personality from a very young age, as a “son of art”, with martial arts. He experimented with excellent results in the practice of judo until the age of 19, when he realizes that he is inexorably attracted to the “cast iron” and the physicality of bodybuilding. So soon he began to devote himself to bodybuilding practice full-time until he decided, at the age of 25, to finalize the training for competition. From 2014 he begins to collect successes that will lead him in 3 years, under the guidance of coach Mauro Sassi, to conquer the status of IFBB professional, a necessary condition to compete with the best bodybuilders in the world. It is a growing career, until the finish line on 18 July: the athlete from Brescia, the provincial boy who grew up on the mat with the image of Schwarzenegger in his heart, brings Italy back to the top category of Mr. Olympia.
