Why is Google trying to block third-party call recording apps? Long before this new policy hit the road, Google had restricted apps from providing call recording when it rolled out Android 10 years ago. As Google pointed out in the announcement, the Accessibility API is not designed to provide remote call recording. It also means that third-party developers will no longer be able to use the Accessibility API to provide call recording functionality to users.
Before the implementation of this policy, Android phone users who have downloaded this type of app will not be affected and can continue to use it. However, you have to do it at your own risk, if you download third-party call recordings with concerns about existing security vulnerabilities, updates and fixes may not be available at that time.
