Anti-flu, new platform. Funding from the Region to extend vaccine times and for medical staff

In recent days, 6,200 general practitioners have been trained in the use of the platform and a “discussion has been initiated for the resolution of any difficulties related to the use of the new application” let the Lombardy Region know.

Therefore, starting from Friday 22 October, family doctors who have started administering the flu can already register vaccinations on the new platform, to which the simplifications requested by the doctors themselves during the training days have been made. “The collaboration by family doctors – explains the vice president and councilor for Welfare of the Lombardy Region, Letizia Moratti – is essential, not only because we are at a turning point in the fight against Coronavirus, but also to counteract the circulation of the virus flu that this year, since individual and mass movements are now free, could be more widespread than in the previous season ».

Just this week, the regional council, on the proposal of Letizia Moratti, approved a resolution that aims to encourage general practitioners to actively participate in the anti-Covid vaccination campaign, as well as the flu one.

The allocation of 4 million 161,057 euros will make it possible to find new medical, nursing and administrative staff so as to extend the opening hours of the clinics and support the vaccination campaigns in progress.

The flu campaign recorded, on Friday 22 October, about 48,000 administrations. Of these, 47,000 were carried out in vaccination centers in the area – where the anti-Covid / flu co-administrations started on 7 October – and about 1,000 at general practitioners’ offices where vaccinations are starting gradually from this week.

“Given the current epidemiological situation relating to the circulation of Covid – underlines the vice president Moratti – the ideal is that the most fragile citizens book as soon as possible also for the flu vaccination to be more protected with the arrival of the winter season, as recommended by the Ministry of Health ».

For the flu vaccination, people over 65, frail and chronically ill, pregnant women and children from 6 months to 6 years can contact their family doctor / pediatrician as a priority, if adhering to the vaccination campaign. From 28 October it will also be possible to book an appointment for the flu vaccine in one of the centers in the area through the dedicated platform.
