by admin

Apple pushes its music offering by focusing on classical music. It does so by buying Primephonic, the streaming service dedicated to the classic. The acquisition figures are not known.

The company explains that with the addition of Primephonic, Apple Music subscribers will have a “significantly better” experience with classical music, starting with playlists and exclusive Primephonic audio content.

Primephonic features include navigation and search optimized by composer and repertoire, detailed views of song metadata.

Primephonic will be offline starting September 7th. Apple Music plans to launch a dedicated classical music app next year, combining Primephonic’s classic user interface with a host of additional features.

Meanwhile, people who are currently Primephonic subscribers will be able to enjoy Apple Music for free for six months.
