Food for thought and practical suggestions to address the most frequent fears, concerns and problems

(beraking latest news Salute) – The site of ‘Articoliamo’, a campaign supported by Sobi with the patronage of FedEmo and created to promote joint well-being in people with haemophilia, has been expanded with the ‘AscoltArti’ section, a new section dedicated to the impacts of illness on the emotional sphere. Food for thought and practical suggestions to address the most frequent fears, concerns and problems, collected in short videos with the opinions of Maria Francesca Mansueto, psychologist and psychotherapist at the Hematology Unit of the “Giaccone” Polyclinic in Palermo, and Sonja Riva, family mediator. The summary of the key messages of each video is also available in text, to download and print.

“Hemophilia causes alterations in family and social relationships, leads to isolation and can cause adjustment disorders – explained Mansueto – psychological support must begin immediately after the diagnosis of the disease, and the path must be done together with the family and in the center”.

“It is natural that the diagnosis frightens the family, especially if there have been no previous cases in other family members – said the expert – and the first reaction is always to search for information on Google and then, if necessary, take a path. Instead, I suggest that you immediately rely on specialist doctors: personalized prophylaxis remains the standard for the treatment of haemophilia, also to avoid consequences such as chronic pain and arthropathy “.
