Colorectal cancer is the second cancer by incidence and the third by mortality in Italy: in 2020 alone, 43,000 new diagnoses were estimated. 90% of colorectal cancers are linked to modifiable risk factors on which it is possible to intervene, and to prevent the degeneration of intestinal lesions and the progression of neoplasms, the most effective tools are screening and early diagnosis. Michele Brait, General Manager of ASST Pavia, and Costanza Alvisi, Head of the UOSD Digestive Endoscopy, explain how investment in innovation with the support of Artificial Intelligence improves diagnostics, helping to save lives.
