It had been months that the Carabinieri of the Asola Station, in total synergy with the ownership of the Asola Skill 5.0 Gym, carried out targeted services aimed at identifying a thief who, hidden among the customers of the gym, was stealing cash from the lockers in the locker room.
Thefts that day after day were creating social alarm among customers, so much so that the managers of the gym in difficulty turned to the local barracks. From August to October, six events of this type materialized with the total sum of almost 1,000 euros of cash stolen from the lockers.
The Carabinieri of Asola therefore, after yet another theft, decided to intervene with a stratagem and put an end to those events. Thanks to the government provisions aimed at preventing the Covid-19 pandemic that oblige gyms to make an access reservation for their customers, the Carabinieri of Asola, limited the days in which the thefts took place, have identified a subject who in all those dates was present.
The man, however, had already been reported as a suspicious customer who had been seen several times looking into lockers that were not his own. Therefore, on October 26th, having obtained the booking, the Carabinieri of Asola carried out a targeted observation service at the sports center.
At 16.30 the alleged perpetrator of the thefts made access to the gym. Under the observation of the Carabinieri he changed in the locker room and remained there for several minutes. That was enough time for him to steal 190 Euros from a wallet kept inside a locker. He quickly hid that money inside his purse and locked it in his locker, putting a lock with a safety key.
Having ascertained the lack of money here by the owner, the Carabinieri intervened stopped the training of the few customers present and had their effects inspected to ascertain any further shortcomings. The man, D.P. born in 1988, he tried to mislead the Carabinieri by explaining that the money was his.
But there the trap was triggered. Those money had previously been photocopied and some banknotes had been withheld, by the Commander of the Asola Carabinieri Station, the serial number and the serial number. Immediately for the man the handcuffs were released for the crime of aggravated theft.
The reconstruction of the events made it possible to attribute responsibility for the other five criminal events to the 1988 class. On Thursday 28 October, at 9.30 am, the rite will be celebrated by direttissima. The arrested person, residing in Asola since birth, was also proposed to the Mantua Police Headquarters for the issue of the Oral Notice.
