The DICE team has now released Update 4.0 for Battlefield 2042, which will bring voice communication to squads and an updated end-of-round scoreboard. This update also includes hundreds of tweaks and bug fixes – the official emphasis is that this is the team’s continuous practice of commitment, listening to players’ feedback, and then completely improving the in-game experience for everyone.

See below for more details:

  • Voice Communication – Voice Communication (VoIP) is now available in Battlefield 2042. The game provides players with two voice chat channels: “Party” and “Squad”. The voice communication setting adjustment path is “Options (Options) > Sound/Voice (Sound/Voice) > Chat” in the game.

  • Scoreboard – In the 3.3 update, the official release of the user interface (UI) for the Scoreboard has been reworked. This update will also make this UI appear on the end-of-turn screen.

  • Tweaks and bug fixes – Based on a steady stream of community feedback, this update contains hundreds of tweaks and bug fixes, most notably including changes to accessories, a Fixed, and fixed an issue where players could not perform Aimed Shots (ADS) after leaving the vehicle. Check out the 4.0 Update History article on the official Battlefield website for a full list.

The version update after the 4.0 revision is currently scheduled to be released in May, and the official will bring more complete game quality updates and bug fixes before the launch of Season One.

The team will continue to share more details on these updates and further development news via Twitter’s Battlefield Direct Communication.
