Sony Interactive Entertainment‘s (SIE) studio Bend Studio, which has produced and launched the PS4 best-selling action-adventure game “Days Gone”, has announced in a post on the official PlayStation blog that it will be using a new studio identification logo. In addition to reviewing the studio’s experience since its establishment, the article also revealed that it is currently developing a new IP game based on the “Gone With the Past” open world system, including a multiplayer mode.

  • New Identity for Bend Studio

We aimed to create a new identity that was edgy, abstract and minimal. The logo should have simple geometric patterns with a high-tech feel, while showing constant creativity. It’s best to have a sign that players will recognize on the street at a glance, without the need for a wordmark. After a long time, it will be easy to be used as an identification symbol for video games, just like a big tick represents sportswear.

Based on these considerations, we express Bend Studio’s technological innovation with forward-looking looks. Cut the font parallel to the leading edge of the outer triangular symbol, while still retaining the squareness of a medium non-italic type. The array of icons in the center of the triangle symbol represents the many peaks that are the center of our lives in central Oregon, and abstractly outlines the skyline here. In addition, a small gap in the juxtaposed line represents the sawmill chimney here, pointing out that Bend was originally a logging town before it became a popular outdoor destination today.

“The wordmark and symbol are presented in a graphic with bold design, allowing us to use many different versions of the color scheme and stylize the symbol, while still maintaining the brand’s identity. Since the Bend Studio logo is split into symbols The two parts, the word mark and the word mark, have greater flexibility in terms of symbols.” – Shay Casey
