More dangerous and resistant than the tiger mosquito and the Africanized bee. The insect we are talking about comes from far away. It seems to have arrived in Northern Italy in the summer months. Precisely the first sighting took place in the regions of Friuli. Unfortunately, however, it multiplies very quickly and is remarkably aggressive.

Furthermore, it seems that the insect adapts quickly to various climates. In fact, the findings took place both in the city and in the countryside. So pay attention to the bites of this insect just arrived in Italy because it can transmit potentially deadly diseases. The concern of the experts is that the insect will soon conquer the western and central part of the peninsula. Veterinary experts say we are facing a species capable of invading an area in no time.

Let’s talk about a particular type of mosquito. It is the Japanese mosquito (Aedes japonicus), so called because it comes from Asia. Like other varieties of this species it feeds on human blood. The difference is that it also stings during the day. Moreover, it has a larger body than the tiger mosquito.

But what makes this animal potentially dangerous? In addition to being particularly resistant, this mosquito also reproduces in difficult conditions. It can cover very long distances as only some sand flies can. But the worst thing is that this particular species carries some nasty diseases. These include Dengue, West Nile, Chikungunya and Japanese encephalitis.

All these diseases have the characteristic of striking through a carrier insect. In this case it is precisely the Japanese mosquito. Thanks to the insect, the virus affects and is transmitted to the person. That is why we must be afraid of this insect. And a whole series of precautions must be taken. For example, we avoid leaving containers full of stagnant water. They can be vases, watering cans, buckets, saucers. Then we don’t leave material stacked, especially in an outdoor environment. Indeed, the Japanese mosquito loves these places. Precisely in containers full of water it deposits its eggs.

Continuing to use mosquito nets is also a great choice to protect yourself. It is not yet known whether the repellents work for this particular species. Finally, we try to stay away from marshes, stagnant places, artificial and non-artificial lakes. Wherever water stagnates, the mosquito potentially hides. So we just have to be careful. For its part, the state will organize pest control campaigns. In addition, it will monitor the spread and movement of the insect in question.
