For this reason, there is no shortage of resources: the NRP foresees 2.8 billion euros for infrastructures and equipment, of which 800 million for the training of people. But from kindergartens upwards, six billion are coming “to invest in quality, for a school that puts people back at the center”.
School for the digital society
Precisely the theme of the quality of teaching but also of the technological equipment was one of the themes that covered the two days of the General States of the digital school of Bergamo, an event organized by the Municipality of Bergamo, by the Regional School Office for Lombardy and by the Learn Digital Association, now in its sixth edition.
From the use of digital in an educational key and from the rethinking of school environments in the light after the Dad experience to new tools such as videogames, from the analysis of the condition of children immersed in a digital reality to the skills required by the new world of work, from the contribution of the industry for a technological equipment adapted to the needs of the new forms of textbooks, there were various themes on which teachers, managers and protagonists of the school world were confronted during the event. Which recorded an attendance of over 5 thousand people over the two days between physical and streaming appearances.
It is a question, underlined the mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori, to outline “not a digital school, but a school for the digital society”. The greatest technological revolution in history in terms of rapidity of transformation and pervasiveness of the effects requires that people be endowed with the ability to continually reinvent themselves: the trainer’s work does not end with the conclusion of the school course, but continues throughout life. with upskilling and reskilling.
A future for young people
“The school must understand how the world of work is transforming, what skills it requires of young people: with nine panels and fifty experts, the States-General represent a moment of reflection to understand how to build a digital school that is not based only on introduction technologies or digital skills but on the overall transformation of teaching and governance to avoid replicating a model based only on the transmission of knowledge that is no longer adequate to contemporary reality », explains Dianora Bardi, president of ImparaDigitale.
