From EUROPE comes an authoritative opinion on the link between textured breast implants (the “rough” ones, the most common) and the development of anaplastic large cell lymphoma associated with prostheses (BIA-ALCL). It is provided by the Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (or Scheer), the scientific committee of the European Commission dedicated to consumer safety and emerging health hazards.
