Check the doctor who does not treat the unvaccinated. And that’s okay too – Company

A doctor theorizes that he chooses who to treat based on his ideas, invites colleagues to do the same and no one raises his voice to question this madness

While in Italy doctors who decide not to get vaccinated are suspended and while the president of the Emilia Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini says that for him doctors who do not want to get vaccinated should change jobs, in our country also the figure of the doctor who theorises in a way blatant and open that he will only treat vaccinated patients.
This is the orthopedic surgeon Pietro Bica from Palermo.

‘The current epidemiological situation has convinced me to stop accepting unvaccinated patients starting from September 1st – he wrote two weeks ago on social media -. I owe it first of all to the vaccinated to guarantee them maximum safety, to my family, to the friends I hang out with (only if vaccinated) and to myself. It is certainly not fear of the disease (among vaccinated it has become a normal flu), but I cannot afford a stop from work due to the planned quarantine in case of contagion, which obviously is also important to those who come to be visited at my studio. . I hope other colleagues behave in the same way. ‘
A thesis today also taken up by The Republic who interviews this ‘doctor’, who insists. ‘I also work in the hospital and obviously if a patient comes to the hospital I will work whether he is vaccinated or not. But as we all know, for access even just to the emergency room, a tampon is made and the security measures are very strict. But at my studio it is different, I feel free to let in whoever gives me a guarantee of security. And I don’t think at all that this is a discriminatory attitude – says Bica -. A patient who I operated on in the middle of an epidemic for a broken collarbone, convinced no-vax, called me to say: ‘And who takes my plaque off me?’. And I replied: ‘Get vaccinated and then we’ll talk about it’. I’ll do it seriously, mine is much more than a provocation. And I hope many of my colleagues do. Meanwhile, I can tell you that many other professionals, who work in other sectors, have made similar decisions’.
In short, a doctor theorizes that he chooses who to treat based on his ideas, he also invites his colleagues to do the same and no one raises his voice to question this crazy drift. Imagine if a doctor started to choose whether or not to treat a patient based on his religious beliefs, his sexual orientation, his eating habits … Would that be okay? But now in the country, on the contrary, everything is valid.

This is why we ask those who read us every day, and follow us, to give us, if they believe, a contribution based on their possibilities. Even a small support, multiplied by the tens of thousands of Modenese and Emilia-Romagna who read us every day, is essential.
