This is the Langya virus (LayV), of the genus henipavirus. In a study published in “The New England Journal of Medicine”, scientists explain that it is a zoonosis, meaning it can be transmitted directly or indirectly between animals and humans. It causes symptoms such as fever, fatigue and cough but can also impair liver and kidney function
