China showcases the AG600, the largest amphibious aircraft in the world

by admin

The AG600 is the largest amphibious aircraft in the world: it was independently developed and manufactured by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), which aims for its use in China and its sale to the rest of the world in 2022. The AG600 made its maiden flight in 2017, its first take-off from a body of water in 2018 and its first take-off from the sea in 2020. Now the aircraft, shown at the 13th China Aviation and Aerospace Fair, looks like ready to become permanently operational. The AG600 has a wingspan of about 39 meters and is equipped with four turboprop engines.
