Clarity and Support Secured for I Ibero-American Conference on Pathological Anatomy Celebrations

The uncertainty surrounding the celebration of the I Ibero-American Conference on Pathological Anatomy has been completely cleared this Tuesday, as both the Mahón City Council and the Island Council have offered all guarantees to the Spanish Society of Pathological Anatomy (SEAP-IAP), the organizer of the event.

Initially, there was concern after the news on April 11 that the Government was abandoning the Maó facilities, leaving the congress up in the air. With over 800 people originally planned to attend, there were doubts about how many would be able to physically come. However, after a meeting between SEAP president Santiago Ramon y Cajal, Maó Mayor Héctor Pons, and Consell President Adolfo Vilafranca, it was confirmed that both institutions are fully supporting the event.

The Consell has publicly stated its collaboration and offered “all the support” of the institution in hopes of attracting a large number of specialists with over fifty speakers. This conference not only benefits the field of Pathological Anatomy but also provides an opportunity to showcase Maó and Menorca, leading to potential economic benefits for the island.

With the support of the local authorities, the I Ibero-American Conference on Pathological Anatomy is set to proceed as planned on May 16 and 17 at the Firal de Maó Campus.
